The internationalization activities of the Department of MIFT aim to promote strategies to strengthen the international dimension of research activities.
The Department of MIFT participates in the "PCAM: A European Doctorate Network" program (PCAM an European research network of doctoral programmes focussing on various aspects of the Physics and Chemistry of Advanced Materials), which seeks to promote and enhance scientific and academic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of an international research policy and the value of a transborder approach in the continuous optimization of higher education. The primary goal is to provide competitive scientific education and research training at the doctoral level within a European context.
The Department of MIFT is currently involved in the following cooperation agreements with major institutions:
- European Research Institute of Catalysis A.I.S.B.L. (ERIC)
- Suzhou Institute of Nanotech and Nanobionics, Chinese Academy of Sciences
- Consorzio Spintronic Factory, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo – Mexico
- University of Cadiz – Spain
- University of Alcala – Spain
Additionally, a Framework Cooperation Agreement has just been established between the MIFT Department and "Aristotle" University of Thessaloniki - Department of Geophysics – Greece, Boğaziçi University - Department of Earthquake Engineering Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute – Turkey, University of Malta - Department of Geosciences – Malta.
The main purpose of the agreement is to promote joint research/training activities and mobility (teaching staff, researchers, and students) in areas of mutual interest, with a particular focus on geophysical sciences.
