Department Commissions

In linea con quanto previsto dal proprio Regolamento, il Dipartimento MIFT si è dotato di diverse Commissioni e procedure interne per coadiuvare il Direttore e per gestire i processi di assicurazione della qualità.

The Joint Committee of the Department is composed of representatives of students who are part of the Department Council and an equal number of teaching staff members elected by the Department Council, representing, where possible, all study programs within the Department.

Starting from June 13, 2023, the committee is integrated with a teaching staff member from the Ph.D. Council and a Ph.D. student to be identified among those elected as representatives in the Department Council.

Chaired by the most senior professor in office, the Joint Committee performs the following tasks:

  • Provides opinions on the activation and suppression of study programs.
  • Monitors the quality of the educational offering and teaching, as well as the service activities to students by professors and researchers, and identifies indicators for evaluating the results of these activities.

The Departmental Orientation and Tutoring Committee consists of the Department Director or his delegate, Course Coordinators, or the professors delegated by them, and two students elected by the student representatives within the Department Council.

The Committee, chaired by the Director or his delegate, carries out the following tasks:

  • Ensures a welcoming, supportive, and assisting environment for students to guide their choices in the pre-enrollment phase, prevent dropouts and delays in studies, and align the study program with professional opportunities.
  • Supports initiatives aimed at helping students overcome any difficulties in starting their studies, enabling them to pursue them successfully and aligning the study program with professional opportunities.
  • Proposes pre-course and intensive educational activities, support, and recovery initiatives, aiming to facilitate the completion of any educational debts and access to the first year of the course. It also includes tutoring activities focused on assessing and improving students' preparation through personalized deepening of teaching to overcome specific learning difficulties.

The Departmental Orientation Reference Persons are also invited to Committee meetings.

The AQ-RDTM Commission of the Department is appointed by the Department Council upon the proposal of the Director and is composed of teaching staff members affiliated with the Department.

The Commission assists the Department Director in defining and annually monitoring strategic objectives for research and the third mission, as well as planning improvement actions and verifying their effectiveness.

It also conducts reviews for research and third mission activities.

Currently, the AQ-RDTM Commission is composed of the following teaching staff members:

The Review Group for Research and Third Mission is comprised of the Department Director, who also serves as the Coordinator, members of the AQ-RDTM Commission, the departmental AQ Representative overseeing the self-assessment process, and the Head of the Departmental Research Office providing support.

The Review Group is an operational working group with the following tasks:

  • Coordinating self-assessment and accreditation activities for the Research and Third Mission endeavors of the Department, promoting the uniform application of AQ procedures.
  • Contributing to the drafting of the SUA-RD form, specifically addressing the areas under review of the results.
